05/28/08. Open Letter to My Washington Rep

Nick J. Rahall, II
Congress of the United States
House of Representatives
Washington, DC 20515-4803

Dear Representative Rahall:

Thank you for answering my concerns with your April 29, 2008 letter. I appreciate the time taken to write to me. I was, however, very displeased with the replies you made to my letter. In short, you have insulted my intelligence with your statements.

You said, “…there is not enough oil there (ANWR) to make a dent in gas prices, and, it would simply continue our dependency on petroleum rather than develop viable alternatives such as coal-based liquid fuels.”

First, my question to you is, “Has the concept of free enterprise been completely forsaken by you and others serving in Washington?” How can you say more supply would not affect the cost of fuel, or as you say, “put a dent in gas prices.”? Would using our own oil not reduce the dependence on oil from all those countries that dislike the United States of America?

Secondly, you imply that the dependency upon petroleum is bad. Maybe at some point it will be, but for now we have millions who depend upon oil, America has oil, and you and other politicians are directly responsible for keeping the U.S. citizens from harvesting this valuable and much needed natural resource. Coal gasification may be fine some day, but get real, and let the oil that is available now be used now. We don’t know in whose back pocket you reside, but you are certainly not representing the average guy on the street, or the average farmer like me out standing in his field.

Sincerely,
Dennis Rowan

03/28/08. President of the USA or Last Comic Standing?

Reasonably informed people in America must pinch themselves every day or two to verify that they are alive and awake. The candidates for president this year must surely provide comedic relief for people outside the US. We America’s must cry most of the time but occasionally laugh at these candidates to keep from loosing our sanity, or perhaps to prove that we have already done so.

If it’s not Barack Hussein or Hill Rodham it is John Sidney. Of course John Sidney says it is not appropriate to use Barack’s middle name. In fact, his exact words were, “I absolutely repudiate such comments.”

Rodham on Hussein, “There’s nothing to be gained,” Hillary said, “by repeating Barack Hussein Obama, Barack Hussein Obama. It’s as immature as noting the similarity between the name Obama and Osama bin Laden.” Hill only uses her last name because it has more power among the voting lemmings who like her husband.

Anyway this blog entry apparently reflects my immaturity and needs to be absolutely repudiated. Hey, I’m just seeking relief!

So Hill says she had to duck her head and run when sniper fire came at her in Bosnia. When caught in a lie with video to prove differently then it was a memory thing. Yeah. Sounds more like something an immature five-year old would fabricate.

That’s a good reason we do NOT want Hillary as president; she has a poor memory. I Googled “don’t remember hillary” and got 4.25 million. Well okay, I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt; perhaps she has a good memory. Of course, if that’s the case, she then has to be called a pathological liar just like her husband. Perhaps that is one of two things they have in common. Their lust for power is the other.

What about comic Hussein. First he didn’t know his pastor of 20 years ever made controversial remarks. Then the pastor was just like an old uncle. As Hussein’s lies caught up with him, then he said he didn’t attend church on the days those video’s were made. Finally Hussein dug a rat hole deep enough to hide in just like that other Hussein. But he didn’t hide; instead he gave what some called a historic speech, even though he trashed his white grandmother in the process and said she was a typical white person. Since Hussein gave a definition of a typical white person, he should also explain what a typical black person is like.

John Sidney doesn’t get so much coverage these days but he is still trying to convince us he is conservative and that he got the message on immigration. Yes John Sidney we hear, but do not believe.

When the votes are all in this November who do you think will be the last comic standing?

02/08/08. Male, Female, Neutral

Don’t you sometimes wish for the good ole days when six-year old boys and girls were sent to school, graduated 12 years later, and we still knew them to be boys and girls? Well, not now, not in California. Lawmakers there have turned common sense upside down with a law concerning gender identity.

The legislature there recently passed Senate Bill 777, signed by the governor, which has as its central focus the intent to normalize in public schools perversions to what most of us call male/female, boy/girl, husband/wife, and mom/dad.

This is how SB 777 defines gender, "Gender" means sex, and includes a person's gender identity and gender related appearance and behavior whether or not stereotypically associated with the person's assigned sex at birth.”

Okay, so your plumbing at birth suggested you were a male so we stereotyped you by assigning your sex at birth as “male,” but you don’t have to accept such a stereotypical social construct placed upon you by doctors, nurses and parents. You can change that once you enroll in school.

To avoid offending those who fail to fit in, the law says mom and dad should be called Partner 1 and Partner 2. This is supposed to prevent homosexuals from being offended.

Gender-neutral bathrooms would be provided for those who are confused about their gender. Can you believe grown men and women (and gender neutral) people could come up with anything this ridiculous? I am not making this stuff up. How did we ever get through school 50 years ago without those gender-neutral bathrooms? Let’s say you are not confused today, so you go to the boys’ restroom. But, tomorrow you are sure you are female so you go to the girls’ restroom. The third day you are confused so you go neutral. Please … give me a break. Of course that begs the question, “How do you ‘go’ neutral?"

On the one hand this is laughable, but a bill signed into law designed specifically to cater to homosexuals, lesbians, transsexuals, and cross dressers at the expense of the truth about traditional behavior regarding sexuality, marriage, and family is at the very least stupid. To thrust such indoctrination on to young school children is nothing short of scandalous. In the midst of such confusion why should we be surprised that Johnny can’t read?

This law is causing a watershed moment in California for parents who wish to protect their children from such outlandish schoolhouse shenanigans. Interest in private schools and homeschooling is booming. I’d say that beats going neutral.

02/27/08. What Do the Numbers Tell Us?

Do your eyes glaze over a bit anytime you see or hear about the money spent by our federal government? Mine do. People who need $78 to pay an electric bill just have trouble grasping what 45 million dollars looks like, or three trillion.

The best way for me to grasp the big numbers is by comparison. I remember when some politicians were complaining about the $40 million price tag for the investigation of Bill Clinton’s activities by the Kenneth Starr team. The critics were letting us know that was a lot of money. Well it was. But then so was the MORE THAN $40 million spent by Clinton on one trip to China than included approximately 1000 total people. You and I both know 40 million is still a large number, but proper perspective helps us act sane on some days.

Here is a recent one than puts me on the sanity/insanity edge. You recall how Americans hounded congress last summer to reject the amnesty bill they had on a roll. They reluctantly behaved themselves by rejecting the bill and did come up with one that included building some fence on the border with Mexico. Some complained about the 2.2 billion dollar price tag. I know, your vision is dimming as your eyes begin to glaze.

Here’s the kicker, the reason I wrote this blog entry. In a U.S. Department of State document dated October 22, 2007 the Bush (Jorge) administration pledged to give Mexico 1.4 billion dollars so Mexico could control illegal traffic on its southern border. Yes that means the southern border of Mexico, not U.S.A.

I did not make this up. The title of the document is “Joint Statement on the Merida Initiative: A New Paradigm for Security Cooperation.” New paradigm? Security? Give me a break; that’s another blog for another day. In case you are still not convinced here is where you can find the document,
http://www.state.gov/r/pa/prs/ps/2007/oct/93817.htm

That’s all this time amigo; adios.
Home. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. (Deuteronomy 6:6-7)
Church. When you come together, everyone has a hymn, or a word of instruction, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation.
(1 Corinthians 14:26)
Culture. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight.
(1 Corinthians 3:19)
